Create your first note

Notes are the heart of pelajarin.ai. One note = one piece of study material, automatically turned into summaries, flashcards, and quizzes.

Steps

  1. Open the button that creates a note:
    • On a computer: on your Dashboard, click New Note at the top right.
    • In a phone browser: on your Dashboard, the page listing Your Notes, tap the round orange + button in the bottom-right corner of the screen. It has no text on it, and another window in the same corner can partly cover it.
    • In the Android app: on the Home tab, tap the round + button to the right of the bottom menu.
    • If you have no notes yet, the Dashboard also shows a Create First Note button.
  2. Choose the kind of material, then upload it. You can use:
    • a document (PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, TXT)
    • an audio file (MP3, WAV)
    • a video file (MP4, MOV)
    • a YouTube link
  3. Choose a Subject/Course for the note. This field is required. If the subject does not exist yet, type its name and choose Create "name" to make it on the spot.
  4. Click Create Note (in the Android app: Process), then wait while the AI processes it, usually 30 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on the size and complexity of the material.
  5. Open your new note. You'll find the summary, flashcards, and a quiz generated from your material, plus the AI tutor chat.

Putting a note into a Subject

A Subject's page only lists the notes already assigned to it, and that page has no button for adding one. If it says "No notes in this subject yet.", assign the note in one of these ways:

  • A new note: choose the subject in the Subject/Course field while creating the note (step 3 above).
  • An existing note, on the web: open the note, click the folder icon next to its title, choose the subject in Change Subject, then click Save.
  • An existing note, in the Android app: open the note, tap the ⋯ button at the top right, choose Change Subject, pick the subject, then tap Save. If you have a chapter open, go back to the note's main page first so the ⋯ button appears.

To create a Subject without creating a note: on the web, open Subjects in the side menu and click Add. In the Android app, open the Subjects tab and tap the + button.

Tips for better notes

  • Upload clear, complete material: a full chapter beats a single page of fragments.
  • Split very large books into chapters so each note stays focused.
  • Assign notes to a Subject to keep your library organized.
